March Clothing Event!

Each month, we host a free clothing event. The free clothing event started when the encampment was at Rainbow Park. We handed out clothes all month, anytime anyone asked, but we always got a large amount of children's clothing and allowed people from the community to come and get what they needed on the clothing event days.

Now we have a location we can use indoors. Connect Sarnia at 181 N. Christina Street allows us to use their space for our activities, and we are very grateful for their generosity.

How it works!

People drop off items. They are left bagged and in the shed for a minimum of 2 weeks ( I have a fear of bugs). They are unbagged, shaken out and then brought in to be washed. Once they are washed, they are folded and put into totes labelled Adult female, Adult male, children, shoes and other.

The night before the event, we bring everything into Connect and start to set up. We try to make sure things are on the tables in sizes and seasonally relevant.

The next morning, we get there early and finish setting up. Once we are open, everyone is welcome. They can take whatever they need, and we have bags for them to pack it all into.

We don't ask anyone who comes in questions; they are just welcomed.

This months event will be held Sunday March 29, 2026.
