TP

What difference are we really making? What's the point of the hygiene bags?

I visited one of the people we work with who is currently housed. Housed doesn't mean the end of our care, but that's another story for another day.

I had to use the restroom, of course, being a woman, and he and his buddies being men, and well, low-income. I knew the chances of there being toilet paper would be slim, but I asked Hey, do you have TP? He smiled and said YES!. Okay, I went in and looked down, and the only toilet paper he had was the small amount we put in the hygiene bags. That's it.

I was sad that that's all he had. But seeing that showed just how much a little thing, many of us would take for granted, such as TP, was something they only had from the hygiene bags we hand out. It showed that we are making an impact, maybe one piece of TP at a time, but we are making a difference.

What's inside the bags?
